Job Title: Customs and Excise Manager

Reporting to the Head of Tax, Morrisons is seeking a highly skilled Customs and Excise Manager to oversee all aspects of Customs and Excise compliance across the Morrisons Group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Customs and Excise compliance for imports and exports, ensuring accurate classification and identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure Customs and Excise compliance, including commercial, retail, wholesale, supply chain, and logistics.
  • Ensure accurate accrual and reconciliation of all duties, and serve as the first point of contact for HMRC on Customs and Excise related matters.
  • Proactively research regulation changes on excise, customs, and anti-dumping duties, providing timely advice to stakeholders.
  • Train and coach commercial colleagues on Customs and Excise legislation, and translate complex tax requirements into easily understood terms.
Requirements:
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication and planning skills, with an eye on the future and a finger on the pulse of the business.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
