About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audiologist to join our team at OutsideClinic. As an Audiologist, you will play a crucial role in providing audiological testing services to patients in the comfort of their homes, in-store, and supporting the NHS.

You will be responsible for managing a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss, conducting Pure Tone Audiometry, testing for non-organic hearing loss, and selecting and programming/fitting of appropriate hearing instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss, prioritizing patient care and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct Pure Tone Audiometry, including masking as required, to assess hearing thresholds and identify potential hearing loss.
  • Test for non-organic hearing loss, using evidence-based practice to support diagnosis and treatment.
  • Select and program/fit appropriate hearing instruments, ensuring optimal hearing outcomes for patients.
  • Provide a full, structured, patient-centric aftercare program to ensure maximum satisfaction and hearing instrument effectiveness.
  • Support patients with hearing loss, providing education and guidance on hearing instrument use and maintenance.
  • Use Real Ear Measurement equipment to validate and verify hearing instrument fittings, ensuring accurate and effective hearing outcomes.
  • Commit to lifelong learning, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in Audiology and best practices.
  • Maintain daily test equipment, arranging calibration as needed, and adhere to infection control principles in the workplace.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Meet the required level of expertise to register with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, receiving necessary training as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to reflect on own practice, identifying strengths and development needs, and contributing to a clinical team.
  • Take responsibility for own professional actions, recognizing professional boundaries and seeking advice when necessary.
  • Contribute to a clinical team, discussing client needs with peers and management, and attending supervision and training to maintain skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain CPD records, adhering to HCPC requirements, and understand clinical governance principles and their application to professional practice in Audiology.
Requirements
  • Effective and flexible communication skills, with the ability to interact with multiple parties.
  • Proficiency in digital systems and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Confident driver with at least two years' driving experience, with the ability to find multiple locations.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work within own clinical knowledge and limitations.
