Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intervention Assistant to join our team at Esteem North Academy. As a Phonics Intervention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering phonics, literacy, and reading interventions to our students who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify students at KS3 and 4 who require reading intervention and develop strategies to support their progress.
  • Deliver a variety of reading interventions, including phonics programs, to students who require additional support.
  • Record and monitor student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and adjust interventions accordingly.
  • Work closely with the Site Lead and Phonics Lead to develop and implement our phonics program, ensuring that we have the necessary resources and materials.
  • Support staff with professional development and contribute to a whole academy ethos of promoting reading and literacy.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge and experience of working with phonics programs, including Read Write Inc Fresh Start.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • High expectations and a sense of humor, with the ability to work with students who have behavior, emotional, and social difficulties.
  • Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Daily access to transport, with business use included on your insurance.

Working Arrangements:

The role will be based at our new site in the Chesterfield area, with mileage claims included for travel to other locations. You may also be required to travel to our other academy sites for meetings, inset, and CPD.
