Job Opportunity: Phonics Intervention Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Intervention Assistant to join our team at Esteem North Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering phonics, literacy, and reading interventions to pupils who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify pupils at KS3 and 4 who require reading intervention and deliver a variety of strategies to support their progress.
• Record and monitor progress and impact, and work with the Site Lead and Phonics Lead to develop our phonics programme.
• Support staff with CPD and contribute to a whole academy ethos of encouraging opportunities for reading.
• Work predominantly with pupils on a 1:1 basis, building relationships and supporting their development.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge and experience of working with Read Write Inc Fresh Start or another phonics programme.
• Affinity for pupils with behaviour, emotional, and social difficulties.
• Resilience, high expectations, and a sense of humour.
• Daily access to transport with business use included on your insurance.

Working Arrangements:

The role will be based from our new site in the Chesterfield area, with mileage claims included for travel to other locations. There may also be travel to our other academy sites for meetings, inset, and CPD.
