Commercial Director

e-STORAGE, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, is a leading company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and integration of battery energy storage systems for utility-scale applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the competitive bid processes for projects globally, analyzing commercial and legal aspects of Customer RFPs to develop a competitive submission and grow the execution pipeline.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks during the customer and subcontractor contract negotiation phase for equipment, services, and EPC contracts.
- Develop key requirements for RFPs to subcontractors and evaluate bid results.
- Responsible for bid analysis and modeling to support the strategic procurement process.
- Work with supply chain to capture competitive intelligence and generate insights on the supply chain and BESS landscape.
- Actively identify opportunities to continuously improve business processes and support their implementation.
- Coach members of the Commercial and Contract Management team to grow and learn within their roles.
- Partner with the EMEA Business Development team to plan and implement growth and contracting strategies across the EMEA region.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Commercial contract negotiation and RFP management experience for equipment supply in the energy sector.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Intrapreneurial mindset with skills in process analysis, problem-solving, and strategy development.
- Ability to make critical decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data and under time pressure.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work intensively during negotiation periods.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in executive-level presentations.
- Demonstrated teamwork and proven leadership skills in virtual project teams.
