About Rolls-Royce Submarines

Our submarines business is expanding rapidly, driven by demand from the UK Ministry of Defence. We are seeking highly skilled engineers to join our team in Cardiff and contribute to the success of this exciting project.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for undertaking a range of mechanical assessments, including linear and non-linear finite element analyses. You will make use of traditional hand calculation methods, commercial finite element codes and bespoke analysis codes.

In addition, you will be expected to develop and implement methodologies to assess submarine nuclear plant components. This role requires a deep understanding of structural integrity analysis and the ability to apply mathematical models to real-world problems.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements:
  • Qualification to degree level, or equivalent experience, in mechanical engineering, physics or mathematics.
  • Able to prioritise tasks and work effectively on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Demonstrate interest and expertise in structural integrity analysis.
