**Job Description**
We are seeking an exceptional **Head of Mechanical Design** to spearhead our mechanical design operations, driving innovation and excellence in every project. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for overseeing product development, managing a team of designers, and liaising closely with production teams to ensure seamless design-to-manufacture transitions.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Drive innovation and excellence in mechanical design activities, developing cutting-edge products that meet client expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Mentor and manage two mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages growth and development.
- Communicate effectively with production teams to ensure design specifications are met, and timelines are respected.

**Requirements:**
- Proven track record of designing complex mechanical systems, with experience in special-purpose machines, precision mechanisms, xyz motion systems, and jigs and fixtures.
- Strong understanding of 3D parametric modeling software (preferably Autodesk Inventor) and genuine passion for mechanical design.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.
