We are seeking a highly experienced researcher to join our Research Hub at the Bank of England. As a Research Advisor, you will play a key role in conducting high-quality research on priority topics under the Bank's Agenda for Research (BEAR).
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on priority topics, presenting findings internally to senior policymakers and externally at high-profile conferences and seminars.
- Publish research in respected refereed journals, contributing to the Bank's research agenda.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts in the academic and central bank research community to maximize the external impact of the Bank's research.
- Manage key research processes, including chairing the Bankwide seminar organizing board and managing the Research Visitor Programme.
- Provide technical advice on research projects and proposals, and edit Staff Working Papers in your area of expertise.
- Organize research events to advance priority topics and provide excellent communication skills to convey complex research to non-experts.
- PhD in Economics, Finance, or relevant subjects, with additional years of experience in conducting research in academia, central banks, or other research institutions.
- Strong track record of publishing policy-relevant research in respected refereed journals.
- Ability to generate research contributing to the Bank's Agenda for Research (BEAR) and lead research projects with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to run key research functions with minimal oversight.
- Competitive salary range of £73,630-108,720 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Flexible working arrangements, including part-time and job share options.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including a non-contributory pension, discretionary performance award, and 26 days' annual leave.
