Job Title: Principal Engineer – Nuclear (EC&I)

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Principal Engineer - Nuclear (EC&I). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning of a Naval Plant Reactor.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Develop Technical Solutions: You will develop sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning of a Naval Plant Reactor.
  2. Support Test and Authorisation Groups: You will support or act as the engineering member of the test and authorisation groups depending on experience.
  3. Nuclear Safety Assessment: You will carry out nuclear safety assessment of submarine design changes and deviations from the submarine design intent.
  4. Interface with Build/Test Teams: You will provide technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to Rolls-Royce and MoD to challenge existing requirements.
About You
  • Essential Qualifications: Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Experience: Experience of supporting build and commissioning of Electrical and/or Control Systems.
  • Skills: Demonstrable understanding of 3 phase/single phase machines; digital and analogue based control systems and mechanical interfaces. Technical report writing skills.
