VICE PRESIDENT, DATA ETHICS

BNY Mellon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Enterprise Data Management team as a Vice President, Data Ethics. This role is located in Manchester, UK, and will be a hybrid position.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual to develop and implement a formal data ethics framework for BNY Mellon. This will include policy, controls, assessment methodology, operating model, and tooling. The successful candidate will drive the adoption of the data ethics methodology and tooling across business and technology teams, providing subject matter expertise to data science teams and business/technology change initiatives to assess and mitigate data ethics risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a formal data ethics framework for BNY Mellon.
  2. Drive the adoption of the data ethics methodology and tooling across business and technology teams.
  3. Provide subject matter expertise to data science teams and business/technology change initiatives to assess and mitigate data ethics risks.
  4. Develop and deliver data ethics training and awareness initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technically proficient data professional with relevant experience in data ethics, data governance, data privacy, and/or data risk/compliance.
  • Working knowledge of data ethics principles, industry standards, legal/regulatory requirements, and supporting tools.
