Job Description
A Software Business Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and the IT development team. They analyse business processes, identify needs, and develop strategies to improve business processes using software solutions. The role ensures that software development aligns with business objectives and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Engage with stakeholders to gather detailed business and technical requirements. Document and translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories. Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between the business side and the development team. Facilitate communication and ensure mutual understanding between stakeholders. Manage stakeholder expectations and negotiate priorities.
- Project Management Support: Support project planning, monitoring, and reporting activities. Assist in creating project plans, timelines, and milestones. Monitor project progress and address issues that may arise.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is required. Knowledge of the Marine Industry and Port Operations will be an asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is £55,000-£65,000 based on location and experience. We offer a range of benefits including comprehensive health insurance, pension scheme, and professional development opportunities.
