About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our East Mental Health & Wellness Team at Barking Community Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide senior medical support and guidance to our team, working directly with adults and their families, and liaising with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to adult people with mental health needs across East Barking and Dagenham.
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  • Work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals.
  • Participate in the on-call rota with a 3% on-call supplement.
  • Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member while allowing them to work with their own initiative.
Person Specification
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • CCT or equivalent.
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it.
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.

The post holder will work alongside another Adult Consultant Psychiatrist, a full-time Core Trainee, a full-time GPvTS, and 0.5wte Senior Trainee, in the East Mental Health Wellness Team, and provide care to the adult residents of the Electoral Wards named East Brook, Alibon, Becontree, and parts of Heath.
