Director, Software & Control Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software & Control Engineering to join our team at Turntide Technologies Inc. in Gateshead, England, UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing our global software and control engineering function, adopting state-of-the-art design and validation practices, and driving the team to support applications, product, and sales on new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software/systems, control, or advanced control, with extensive experience of leading software or control teams. They will also possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as good commercial awareness and proactive problem-solving skills.

The role will involve moderate traveling between different offices and will report into the VP of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the global software and control engineering function, adopting state-of-the-art design and validation practices.
  • Drive the team to support applications, product, and sales on new business opportunities.
  • Partner with global software service providers to support software development and deliver high-quality results.
  • Support operations for manufacturing or quality issues and work with the team to resolve them in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Strong background in embedded software/systems, control, or advanced control.
  • Extensive experience of leading software or control teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Able to travel domestically or internationally.
