Teaching Assistant for SEN Students

Job Summary:

Premier Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant for SEN students. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to provide individualized support to students with a range of needs, including ASD, Speech and Language, MLD, SEMH, and PMLD/complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, adapting materials to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a consistent and high-quality support service.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with students with SEN (advantageous but not essential).
  • Ability to work flexibly, including short-term and long-term placements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
