Rheumatology Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our Rheumatology Team at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Rheumatology and be able to integrate into our motivated and hardworking nursing team.
Main Duties:- Support the Rheumatology Nurse Specialist team in providing care to patients with a wide variety of Rheumatological conditions.
- Perform basic clinical skills and provide support in drug monitoring.
- Provide safe, accurate, comprehensive monitoring of patients and recognise changes in patients conditions which require the intervention of others.
- Respond to adverse drug events and abnormal blood results, adjusting the patients treatment plan under supervision.
- Ensure patient safety is maintained at all times and record and report adverse events and near misses in line with local policy.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing demands of the service.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates a professional approach to role.
- Able to fulfil the travel requirements of the role.
- Registered adult nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Cannulation and venepuncture or willing to work towards.
- 12 months post registration experience or demonstrates expected competency.
- Well defined communication skills (written and verbal).
- Effective time management.
- Able to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and skills.
- Problem solving skills relevant to role.
- Able to perform basic administration relevant to role, including Microsoft Office.
