About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commodity Manager to join our team at Crane Building Services & Utilities, a leading provider of engineered flow control solutions for the HVAC and Utility sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing global supply chain strategies for assigned commodities, with a focus on delivering industry-leading supplier quality, product/service delivery, customer service levels, total cost, and cash-flow performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the execution of global supply chain strategies for assigned commodities, aligning with Crane's objectives for cost reduction, supplier OTD and lead-times, supplier Quality, and inventory reduction.
  • Maintain awareness of world markets and emerging material-related issues in the industry, positioning the supply chain to flexibly respond accordingly.
  • Leverage supplier capabilities in product design, cost reduction, lead time reduction, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and lead teams to identify and action improvement and savings opportunities.
  • Obtain competitive bids, analyze costs, and negotiate contracts with vendors on the basis of total costs to the company, commensurate with financial risks, quality standards, and delivery capabilities.
  • Leverage technology solutions to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the strategic sourcing process.
  • Monitor ongoing supplier performance, support functions/Business Units in resolving chronic supplier performance problems, revise supplier strategies, and, if necessary, lead projects to exit poor-performing suppliers.
  • Lead periodic Business Reviews with key suppliers to review quality, delivery, cost, and service performance, progress on strategic initiatives, and ensure ongoing strategic alignment between Crane and the Supplier.
Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving/decision-making skills and the ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a global Supply Chain-related role. Strong negotiation and contract management skills and a willingness to travel on a regular basis are essential for this role.
