About the Role:

The Research Fellow will play a crucial role in supporting the aims of the Aberdeen Health Determinants Research Collaboration (AHDRC) by bringing their research skills, experience, and knowledge to the table. Working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, the role will carry out research and evaluation-related activities with ACC Officers to support the growth of research capacity and culture within Aberdeen City Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct various types of evidence synthesis and/or evaluations to support the AHDRC's aims.
  • Disseminate research outputs to national and/or international audiences through various channels.
  • Develop and maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
  • Contribute to the production of research outputs, including publications and reports.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing time demands, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Interact constructively with a wide range of colleagues, including academic colleagues, to achieve shared goals.
  • Communicate complex research information to non-specialist audiences, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
  • Plan and execute day-to-day research activities, working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Apply good problem-solving and organizational skills to overcome challenges and achieve research objectives.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all research activities.
  • Utilize good IT skills to support research activities and data management.
