Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Northampton

Salary: circa £45,000 per annum

Shifts: 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm (flexibility to choose rotating shifts or permanent shift)

Summary: Due to continued sustainable growth, we are seeking to recruit two outstanding Maintenance Engineers (Mechanical and Electrical) to work either a 6am – 2pm or 2pm – 10pm shift or rotating shift.

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing improvements and rectifications on rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries.

The ideal candidate will have a qualified Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent) and experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment (ideally rubber and plastic processing machinery).

The successful candidate will be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and skilled in the use of workshop equipment.

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform improvements and rectifications on rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries.
  2. Document maintenance tasks and issues, identifying root causes and remedial actions to prevent recurring problems.
  3. Liaise with equipment suppliers, contractors, and service support to resolve problems and order spares.
  4. Assist in the introduction of new plant and equipment.
  5. Participate in improvement projects, including process optimization, product enhancements, and tooling upgrades.
