Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically biased, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to work in a dynamic 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, alternating between days and nights. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and serviceability of all machinery, responding promptly to breakdowns, and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Complete all scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks and take ownership of designated projects to improve overall performance.
- Adhere to all established processes and procedures, including the management and utilization of Engineering Stores parts.
- Supply maintenance engineering site cover for the manufacturing plant to ensure optimum production performance.
- Identify, communicate, and carry out area's improvements in conjunction with the wider engineering team.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in a timely manner, as required by the CMMS system.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and efficient manner, including shift report and Pirana work orders.
- Support Operations to ensure the equipment and facilities are always functioning correctly.
- Support Production where required to ensure the daily production plan is delivered in the right quantity, at the right time, and at the right quality.
- Provide expert in-house advice and support on engineering matters.
- Manage maintenance spares and support in controlling the maintenance budget.
- Responsible for all activities involving external contractors working on the site.
- Deal with unscheduled and emergency maintenance work and breakdowns, including fault finding and necessary repair in a safe and timely manner.
To be considered for this role, you should have experience in a packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG environment. A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to respond effectively to breakdowns are essential.
