Supervising Social Worker - Maternity Cover

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our team as a supervising social worker, covering maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and supervising foster families in Yorkshire, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes for looked-after children.

The ideal candidate will have post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings, with a proven track record of working with and on behalf of children. They will be able to use electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars.

Main Role Requirements:

  1. An appropriate social work qualification
  2. Up-to-date registration with Social Work England
  3. Post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
  4. Suitable experience in supporting and supervising 10-12 foster families to meet the complex needs of the looked-after young people
  5. A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development.
  6. Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
  7. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations.
  8. Suitable experience of working with/supporting looked after children and their foster carers.
  9. Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars.

The salary for this role is £45,000 per annum, plus an out-of-hours allowance of £1,500 p.a.
