Compassionate Care Worker

The Presbyterian Church in Ireland seeks a skilled Care Assistant to join our team in Newcastle. As a valued member of our care team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality care to our residents while upholding the Christian ethos of our organization.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care assistance to residents, ensuring their dignity and confidentiality are respected
* Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote their well-being and happiness
* Escort residents to medical appointments or take them on short walks as directed
* Administer medication after receiving necessary training and guidance
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident care and activities
Requirements for Success
* Demonstrated understanding and respect for the needs of older people or those with disabilities
* Familiarity with Health and Safety practices within a workplace environment
* Willingness to undergo relevant training, such as induction training or NVQ/QCF Level 2
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and residents
* Flexibility and availability for on-call duties at night and weekends as required
