About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Functional Safety Specialist to join our team at Forseven. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing and mitigating functional safety risks for the electrical and electronic systems of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Functional Safety Management: Delivering ISO 26262:2018 work products specified within the Functional Safety Plan for a subset of vehicle Items, in accordance with our processes.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Leading the creation of Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Safety Concepts, Safety Requirements, Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V) Test Specifications and other relevant documents/analyses.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinating multi-party activities to ensure synchronized delivery and testing, implementing mitigation strategies when things go off-plan, and building a network of experts to help solve complex issues.
  • System Design and Verification: Collaborating internally and externally to ensure system designs meet all relevant safety and regulatory requirements, which are formally verified to meet these and other specifications (performance, cost).
  • Design Reviews and Supplier Management: Initiating sub-system design reviews as necessary to resolve functional safety concerns, and initiating and conducting meetings with suppliers and Technical Partners as required, ensuring they are delivering in accordance with their Development Interface Agreement (DIA).
  • System Review and Validation: Performing system review, vehicle integration, verification & validation activities including Safety Goal Validation and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic or Automotive Engineering related degree, or equivalent experience, with experience creating ISO 26262:2018 Parts 3 and 4 work products.
  • Technical Skills: Good understanding of Integration, Verification and Validation related to Functional Safety, experience performing SFMEA, DFMEA and/or FTA.
  • Personal Qualities: Articulate, self-motivated, inspiring individual who is highly approachable and keen to learn, dynamic and pro-active attitude to problem solving.
