As part of the Integration and Validation team, you will work alongside key stakeholders and suppliers to complete in-depth analysis of high voltage systems and provide oversight and guidance to fellow team members.

This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our offices near Leamington Spa. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of high voltage safety measures to ensure safe operation of high volume BEVs during development phases and production solutions.
  • Definition of High Voltage System SFMEA along with support of DFMEA and DVP definition to ensure high voltage safety principles are included in all aspects of the design process.
  • Identification and reporting of risks associated with the development process and design decisions taken by the group.
  • Documentation of HV Safety Strategies to ensure compliance during development and through to production.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive safety standards, working with the homologation and functional safety teams, including ISO26262 and ECE R100 amongst others.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of Electric Powertrains (Battery to Driveshaft) within an automotive engineering environment, degree qualified in a related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of automotive standards (such as ISO 26262 for functional safety, UN ECE R100 for high-voltage safety, and automotive EMC standards) and engineering practices.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing technologies product creation process and R&D methods.
  • Demonstrable understanding of electric powertrain architectures and underlying principles and technologies including thermal management, HV harnessing, electrical safety systems, serviceability, and control strategies.
  • Good communication and ability to represent and articulate safety concepts to colleagues and seniors alike.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the V-Cycle and its application in an automotive environment.
