Job Summary:

The Early Years Educator will be responsible for delivering exceptional care and education for children while undertaking a formal qualification in childcare. The successful candidate will work with a team to ensure the nursery is compliant in all areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote diversity and equality in the nursery environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create a stimulating environment that meets the individual needs of each child.
  • Demonstrate the HEART principles in everyday working life, including honesty, empathy, accountability, respect, and teamwork.
  • Take responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements, Bright Horizons policies, and procedures to develop the strength and reputation of the Bright Horizons brand.
  • Support children's development in partnership with parents, offering contributions to observations and planning for next steps.
  • Work alongside the nursery team to build strong partnerships with parents/carers and other professionals.
  • Contribute to children's records through observation and ensure good practice and compliance with the revised EYFS Framework.
  • Practice positive behavior management techniques and meet the individual dietary, health, comfort, and care needs of each child.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions, and work alongside the assessor to complete the formal qualification.
  • Have the ability to manage own time to complete required coursework in the given timeframe.
  • Drive own development through active participation in appraisals, one-to-ones, and requesting supervisions where required.
  • Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers, taking a bold approach to stand out amongst competitors.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to undertake a formal Level 2/3 Early Years qualification.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Willingness to gain Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1/2.
  • Desirable qualifications include a full and relevant Level 1 (or above) Early Years qualification, A-C grade in Maths and English, and First Aid or 12 hour Paediatric First Aid qualification.
