Your new role

Hays Senior Finance is partnering with a leading national construction organisation to find a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their established Finance team in Barnsley. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the regional commercial teams, providing financial support and analysis to drive business growth and manage risk.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse key financial data from live projects to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Collate and summarise information from multiple sites to provide a comprehensive overview of financial performance.
  • Work with regional commercial directors to develop and implement business growth strategies, including bid and tender support.
  • Support regional Commercial Managers during external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.
  • Act as an accounting subject-matter expert, influencing system development and improving overall performance.
  • Support analysis and reporting related to M&A activity.
  • Develop and implement improved management information and support corporate goals.
  • Produce management accounts information to support budgets and forecasting.
  • Build strong relationships with budget holders, influencing and challenging as necessary.
  • Manage and develop an assistant finance business partner.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified accountant or CIMA finalist.
  • Experience working in a similar role within a Finance Business Partnering position or Management Accountant.
  • Strong attention to detail and a flexible work ethic.
