Babcock International Group is a leading provider of critical, complex engineering services. We're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and we're looking for a talented Supply Chain Operations Manager to join our team at our Bovington site.

The Role

As a Supply Chain Operations Manager, you'll have a key role in ensuring the efficient running of our department. You'll manage a team of nine managers/leaders who have a total of sixty-five employees reporting to them. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying areas for improvement and driving change to include culture change initiatives and improving efficiencies
  • Conducting appraisals, progress training requirements, dealing with departmental absences, and recruitment activities
  • Identifying and pursuing potential commercial opportunities
  • Carrying out monthly Contract monitoring and ensuring authority accounts are managed correctly
  • Ensuring departmental operating costs are managed within budget
  • Compiling reports and statistics as requested by the Contract/Operations Managers
  • Providing assistance to Company bid teams and other Company visitors
  • Driving change through continually asking 'why' and reviewing where best practice or process amendments can be implemented to add value for the customer and the contract

This role is full-time, working 37 hours per week, and is based on site at Bovington.

Essential Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literacy to MS Office standard
  • Driving license (cat B minimum)
  • People management experience
  • Management of change within an operational environment

Qualifications

A Health & Safety qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safely, would be an advantage. However, we value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education. If you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn, we'd like to hear from you.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
