About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Specialist to join our team at Aon. As a key member of our Underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and processing new and renewal business, ensuring that individual risks are processed promptly and in accordance with our Delegated Underwriting Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite a portfolio of multiple lines of business, assessing and processing new and renewal business within agreed timescales.
  • Timely completion of pre-bind and post-bind administrative processes.
  • Ensure that individual risks are processed promptly and in accordance with the Delegated Underwriting Authority.
  • Record risk details on our Policy Administration System in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Liaise with brokers and internal departments for risk information.
  • Build an excellent working relationship with our Global Broking Centre Team.
  • Refer risks to our insurer panel where necessary.
  • Participate in regular meetings to ensure the ongoing success and adoption of our flagship facility, Aon Client Treaty (ACT).
Your Skills and Experience
  • Prior experience in an underwriting support role will be looked upon favourably.
  • Minimum A level standard (or equivalent).
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-disciplined and organised.
  • Team player.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Computer literacy, including competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional - CII or partially CII qualified would be an advantage.
