Senior Underwriter Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at The Recruiter Specialists Group Ltd. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing a team of Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters, overseeing the renewal underwriting process, and maintaining broker relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters to ensure efficient and effective underwriting processes.
  • Oversee the renewal underwriting process, ensuring timely and accurate renewals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with best practice procedures and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Commercial underwriting experience, specifically in Property and Liability.
  • Previous experience in team management, goal setting, and performance monitoring.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risks.
  • Experience working with Commercial brokers and insurers.
  • Ability to work in a small team in a SME organisation.
  • Underwriting experience with delegated authority or underwriting licenses.
  • Proven track record of developing new and existing relationships with key brokers.
