The Role: Garment Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Garment Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will have technical garment construction fit, testing, and grading knowledge, with a love of luxury garments and close attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To contribute positively to fit sessions, providing technical advice to Design and Buying teams in line with the brand's standards and Golden Rules.
  • To ensure that prototypes, fits, and Gold Seals meet specifications and align with the brand's standards and Golden Rules.
  • To communicate specifications, amendments, and size charts to suppliers clearly and effectively.
  • To ensure garments are viable for production from a cost and quality perspective.
  • To request relevant bulk tests and garment testing to guarantee quality and costs.
  • To conduct wearer trials on new fabrics, high-risk styles/details, and take action accordingly.
Additional Tasks:
  • To make regular scheduled visits to the Warehouse to support and train the team in identifying poor quality/poor manufacture/customer abuse.
  • To review the monthly quality returns report and take necessary action.
  • To coordinate (with the support of the Buying team) and conduct a fit review per season to ensure the brand's fit is correct and consistent.
  • To build and maintain good working and professional relationships with head office, store, and warehouse teams.
