RRPS Coaching Position

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop and lead a competitive girls wrestling team while fostering character and life skills in athletes.

  • Verify that each prospective athlete has completed and submitted the Rio Rancho Public Schools Interscholastic Athletic Participation Form, physical, and proof of insurance before participation.
  • Explain and discuss the RRPS Athletic Code of Conduct with athletes, maintaining a file with signatures from athletes, parents, and the head coach.
  • Prepare and submit lists of lettermen, equipment inventory, and requests for new equipment to the athletic office.
  • Evaluate assistant, JV, and 9th-grade coaches at the end of the season.
  • Compile and distribute a list of athletes excused from school on road trips to faculty members, assistant principals, attendance office, and online.
  • Confirm road trip details with the athletic coordinator and ensure proper equipment storage and care.
  • Provide a safe environment for athletes' valuables during practice and games.
  • Maintain a respectful atmosphere, adhering to athletic eligibility rules and regulations.
  • Limit athletes' time out of school and ensure compliance with NMAA game/contest limits.
  • Supervise assistant coaches and teams, staying updated on rules and regulations.
  • Conduct oneself professionally, representing RRPS positively.
  • Encourage athletes to participate in multiple sports and develop criteria for earning a letter in their sport.
  • Host a mandatory parent preseason meeting to review expectations and team rules.
