About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our team at Swift, the world's leading provider of secure financial messaging services. As a key member of our Group Controllership team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding operational excellence and compliance in our general accounting process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the accurate and timely monthly and annual closings/analysis in compliance with Swift quality standards.
  • Be in charge of ad hoc in-depth accounting treatment analyses and provide information, documentation, comments, and recommendations to management and concerned departments.
  • Prepare closing notes for the annual report and support in the audit process.
  • Maintain contacts with relevant internal and external parties to answer queries, capture information, and resolve pending issues.
  • Coordinate relationships with internal and external collaborators, including the Pricing and FP&A departments, accounting system experts, and financial auditors.
  • Find opportunities for process and internal control improvements and lead and/or control implementations of solutions.
  • Build and maintain working knowledge and understanding of key business drivers and strategy for the area of expertise.
  • Support the rest of the team on group general accounting processes, including consolidation, intercompany, and monthly closing processes.
Requirements
  • University degree in Finance and Economics or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience within a financial position, with 3 years in a financial audit company.
  • Good SAP knowledge.
  • Proficient in general ledger accounting, including accrual/deferral, costs, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
  • Fluent in English and either French or Dutch.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge and related account reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of the reconciliation tool Blackline is an asset.
