Childcare Lawyer

Pardoes Solicitors is a dynamic and forward-thinking law firm in the South West, delivering expert legal advice with empathy and care. We are seeking an experienced Family Law Solicitor to join our dynamic legal aid practice.

We are recruiting a skilled Family Law Solicitor to work with our Head of Family Department, who has been recognized as a top-tier lawyer by The Legal 500. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a caseload, providing expert representation and advice, and undertaking advocacy in public and private children law matters.

• Manage a caseload of public and private children law cases, including Care, Placement, and Adoption proceedings, child abduction, child protection issues, and Special Guardianship matters.
• Provide expert representation and advice to clients, including those with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
• Undertake advocacy in court, including in public and private children law proceedings.
• Assist with delivery of training and development in the department, providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members.
• Maintain accurate and complete files and records in line with SRA and Legal Aid Agency standards and procedures.

• Significant experience of acting for clients in public and private children law matters.
• Registered with the Law Society and Children Panel Membership is desirable.
• Excellent networking and communication skills, with the ability to successfully market the Company and generate new business.
• Working knowledge of the publicly funded Child Care work and the ability to service privately funded cases.
• Experience in managing cases involving domestic abuse and injunctive applications is an advantage.
