We are seeking an experienced Archaeological Project Manager to join AtkinsRéalis Heritage team of specialist consultants. As a key member of our team, you will support the delivery of a wide range of heritage services nationally and internationally.

Job Description:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects across the UK and abroad, leveraging your technical expertise in archaeology and the historic environment. You will be based in one of our offices in Bristol, London, York, Glasgow or Birmingham, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Providing technical advice to clients and internal teams on a diverse range of projects.
  2. Preparing and contributing to environmental impact assessments, heritage statements, desk-based assessments, written schemes of investigation and consent applications.
  3. Assessing heritage constraints to inform design development and supporting the management of archaeological fieldwork programs.
  4. Contributing to defining project scope, program, and design, including delivery of archaeological mitigation and research strategies, and public outreach programs.

Your expertise in archaeology and the historic environment will be invaluable in this role. You will have strong knowledge of planning processes, relevant legislation, policy, and guidance. Experience in commercial consultancy environments is essential, as well as excellent report writing skills and commercial awareness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant Master's level qualification in archaeology or considerable experience in the commercial archaeological sector akin to this level of qualification.
  • Strong background in archaeology and the historic environment, reporting, and project management.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office packages and GIS.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a flexible working arrangement, employee networks, and family-friendly policies.
