Investment Information Writer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Investment Information Writer to join our team at Capital Group. As an Investment Information Writer, you will be responsible for creating accurate and engaging written content to describe our investment strategies and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and gather information to fulfill requests for information, due diligence requests, and requests for proposals.
  • Develop written content to describe our investment philosophy and process across various strategies.
  • Review incoming requests and coordinate with senior associates and managers to ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Maintain our internal databases of approved information and language, and collaborate with the global content manager to enhance and maintain information.
  • Monitor incoming requests and be proactive in responding or collaborating with manager and/or team members to assign as needed.
  • Build and foster relationships internally to ensure consistent external responses and messaging.
  • Coordinate and facilitate RFP kick-off calls to review requirements and understand client needs.
  • Partner with Sales teams to formalize strategy on responses and gather feedback on content improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal groups such as Sales/Produc teams, ESG, Accounting, Global Investment Control, and Marketing Communications/Investment Writers to gather information for responses to requests as needed.
  • Work with Legal and Compliance to maintain business standards and compliance-related requirements.
  • Keep abreast of internal product launches and strategy developments, and assess the impact on content to ensure information is consistently represented.
  • Gather statistical data and information relating to investment strategies from databases and internal systems.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies, escalating when appropriate.
  • Interpret investment-related information/statistics, analyzing data and trends that impact responses.
  • Determine how to best respond to client requests based on questions asked and available data compiled from approved internal sources.
  • Ensure consistency with consultant/third-party database information, and provide expertise to the Investment Information Services team as needed.
  • Record information related to requests for workload tracking and metrics reporting.
  • Work with manager to prioritize client/intermediary requests to ensure timely responses based on the relationship and the type of request.
  • Coordinate, participate in, or act as a resource for team projects, or cross-functional projects that may be part of a broader initiative.
  • Research, gather data, prepare project materials, and present project information.
  • Collaborate with manager and others on departmental improvements.
  • Continuously examine processes to increase efficiency, and participate in the training of other associates.
  • Serve as a general resource to the business for RFI/RFP/DDQ-related information.
  • Respond to recurring and ad-hoc report requests.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of investment strategies and general portfolio statistics, and the ability to apply it to work assignments.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of industry tools and applications, such as RocketDocs and Tableau.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and manage projects within the team.
  • Demonstrate proven numerical ability and experience with quantitative submissions.
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity and analytical skills, particularly in areas of complexity.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills and a command of grammar.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to balance periods of high work volumes with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Display critical thinking and problem-solving skills in areas of complexity.
