Aerospace Seating Design Lead

Tata Technologies is a global company that makes product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering, and validating products for leading manufacturers. We are currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer - Aerospace Seating on a permanent employment basis to be based at our client's site in Cwmbran.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have in-depth experience in aircraft interior design, specifically seating design, and the ability to deliver product development projects on time, to cost, and to the highest quality standards. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for developing complex design concepts and mechanisms, BOMs, detailed design of seating components, and leading successful design integration to ensure customer/airframe regulatory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop complex design concepts and mechanisms, BOMs, detailed design of seating components, and lead successful design integration to ensure customer/airframe regulatory requirements are met.
  • Lead the mechanical design team and be the focal point of communication with customer and suppliers related to mechanical design aspects.
  • Developing complex design concepts and mechanisms, BOMs, detailed design of seating components, and leading successful design integration to ensure customer/airframe regulatory requirements are met.
  • Leading design reviews and ensure on-time delivery of engineering milestones.
  • Responsible for applying processes and methods for product design and ensuring process compliance through change management, design optimization, DFMEA, GD&T, design for manufacture, and knowledge management.
  • Works with Design and manufacturing team regarding design and refurbishment of Seating parts.
  • Should be able to work on Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA). Prefer knowledge of Ergonomics and Aerospace standards.
  • Track and highlight key risks and mitigation mechanisms.
  • Guide team for debugging support, risk mitigation ensuring Lean design methodology.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering team to meet project Milestone.
  • Responsible for design engineering deliverables.
  • Experience of Aerospace seating design & aircraft assembly line.
  • Experience in Aerospace manufacturing processes and Industrial standards.
  • Good knowledge on creation of Guidelines and Project Lean Design Roadmaps.
  • Experience in developing the templates and standards to be used in the Industrial Process & innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace design standards.
  • Good understanding of Industrial assembly for the Aerospace manufacturing industry.
  • Previous history working with Global Aerospace Clients.
