Commercial Lead for Professional Services and ICT

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lead to join our team at UK Atomic Energy Authority. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a pivotal role in developing and leading a new corporate procurement category team for Professional Services and ICT.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in category management, procurement, and commercial leadership, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and driving business growth. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a category management approach to build a better understanding of the market and develop requirements to achieve the best solutions available from the market and achieve value.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead a new corporate procurement category team for Professional Services and ICT
- Implement a category management approach to build a better understanding of the market and develop requirements to achieve the best solutions available from the market and achieve value
- Manage all sourcing activities for major spend categories and assigned projects, adapting resources to meet strategic deadlines and organizational objectives
- Foster effective communication and team commitment, building strong working relationships at both project and direct reporting levels
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure best value in procurement, providing leadership and influence to support commercial engagements
- Resolve conflicts constructively with team members and stakeholders, including high-level government entities
- Oversee procurement and commercial responsibilities for all projects within assigned categories, ensuring compliance with commercial requirements and regulations
- Guide the creation, development, and implementation of commercial policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and outcomes
- MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) fully qualified
- Category Management Experience
- Degree level or equivalent experience
- Experience of working with public contract regulations since 2015 on end-to-end Procurements and good working knowledge of the Public Procurement Regulations 2023
- Experience at strategic procurement project and programme level acting as the lead expert for complex/critical Procurement and Commercial issues and influence both internal and external stakeholders
