About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Code Governance team at National Grid ESO. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in leading industry code governance processes and ensuring the effective administration of electricity codes.

With a strong background in project management, regulation, policy, and code change experience, you will be responsible for managing multiple activities and issues to meet set time constraints. Your expertise in building effective internal and external relationships, combined with strong negotiating and influencing skills, will be essential in driving successful outcomes.

As a Governance Team Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring the smooth operation of code governance and administration activities. You will also act as an industry leader in communication and engagement strategies, setting best practice for code administration and enabling all network users to contribute to code modifications.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Lead industry code governance processes and electricity code administration on behalf of National Grid ESO.
  2. Project manage industry code changes through the governance process.
  3. Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Code Governance team.
  4. Develop and implement effective communication and engagement strategies to set best practice for code administration.
  5. Manage the Ofgem relationship for governance issues.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of industry code governance.
  • Sound working knowledge of the GB electricity and gas markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in building effective internal and external relationships, combined with strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Project Management skills, ability to successfully manage multiple activities and issues to set time constraints.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring staff.
