About the Role
Kent County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join their Dartford Team in the North Kent Children In Care Service. The successful candidate will be based at The Willows in Swanley and will support the Dartford and surrounding areas of Gravesham and Swale.
About the Area
The Children In Care Service covers the whole of North Kent, supporting the areas of Dartford, Gravesham, and Swale. The role requires working across the operational area of North Kent, which includes urban and rural communities.
About You
As a Senior Practitioner, you will be a professionally registered social worker with a degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). You will have a variety of post-qualification experience working with children and families, including systemic practice and an in-depth understanding of legislative and policy frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop areas of specialist practice and bring professional expertise to a range of cases, including complex cases.
- Act as a role model for good practice and champion for your area of expertise.
- Set performance expectations, striking a balance between support and oversight.
- Coach and mentor less experienced staff, including acting as a Practice Assessor for ASYE and student social workers.
- Contribute to training initiatives and build relationships with colleagues, statutory, voluntary, and private sector agencies.

Requirements
The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence, and the Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
