Job Purpose

As a Construction Management Trainee at ISG, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily management of construction sites, focusing on delivering high-quality services and products to our clients. You will work closely with the project team to apply ISG's culture, systems, and procedures, minimizing risks associated with the project and the company.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Shadowing experienced construction managers to gain a deeper understanding of the role
  • Attending meetings with subcontractors, internal, and external stakeholders to expand your network
  • Overseeing logistics, managing subcontractors, ensuring works meet quality benchmarks, and maintaining a daily diary of site activities
  • Working closely with the Senior Construction Manager and Health & Safety Manager to deliver projects
  • Identifying problems and offering solutions prior to and during construction
  • Reviewing designs, drawings, and project programs, and contributing to their development
  • Producing project reports, logistic plans, and method statements
  • Reviewing and managing temporary works processes associated with the project

The Apprentice Programme

Our five-year apprenticeship program provides exposure to all aspects of the business, giving you the opportunity to join one of our core disciplines: Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building/Technical Services Management, or Planning. You will rotate through different departments to gain a solid understanding of how your specialism fits within a typical project lifecycle.

We will sponsor you to complete a relevant degree, and you will have access to ongoing training and development to help you reach your career ambitions. As a collaborative business, we encourage you to share your ideas and challenge the norm.

Candidate Profile and Entry Criteria

You will have at least 104 UCAS points from your A-Levels or a relevant BTEC, ideally including a maths or science subject or a construction-related Level 3 BTEC Diploma. You will be expected to learn and grow throughout the five-year program, recognizing that this time is used to make you an expert in your field.
