About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance and Policy Lead to join our team at Pearson Education. As a key member of our Data Division, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and security of all data analytics across our organisation, including internal operational reporting, commercial insight, and external data exchange.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the maintenance, integrity, and accessibility of our Data Lake
  2. Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures
  3. Develop and implement security framework for all users
  4. Implement processes to audit/monitor data quality and security
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations
  6. Oversee the analytical usage of the Data Lake
  7. Work with end-users to ensure data is being used appropriately
  8. Audit self-serve reports to ensure relevance and accuracy
  9. Eulogise Data Governance across the business
  10. Provide training and support to analysts and other stakeholders on data governance best practices
  11. Promote a culture of data literacy and responsible data usage across the organisation.
  12. Advise on Data Standards within Pearson and across the wider education sector
  13. Work with Data, and Security teams to ensure that data standards are relevant, up to date, and adhered to
  14. Liaise with other Awarding Organisations to drive positive change in homogenising data
