Job Title: Highways Lighting Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Highways Lighting Supervisor to join our team in Derby. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for allocating, monitoring, and supervising a team of field staff to complete installation and repair works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage a team of field staff to ensure timely completion of installation and repair works.
  • Ensure that each member of your team is properly authorized and trained to undertake the work allocated to them.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Engineers, and Support Team to maintain and improve the performance of project delivery.
  • Identify, evaluate, and control all potential on-site hazards to ensure safety and quality are never compromised.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards through site inspections, team briefings, and regular safety audits.
Requirements:
  • Wide range of knowledge and experience of Highways Lighting installation practice and procedures.
  • Qualified Electrician with a good working knowledge of BS7671 IEE wiring Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management System.
  • Detailed knowledge of Safety Management, Risk Assessment, and safe working procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of accountancy procedures including payroll, purchasing, and job costing.
  • Commercial awareness including basic contract law and management of risk.
  • Working knowledge of the jointing activity and authorized to set jointers to work on DNO/IDNO Networks.
  • Full driving license.
  • The ability to self-motivate as an individual and at team level.
  • A pro-active and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Oral and written communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to take a confident and diplomatic approach with staff, colleagues, and customers.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
  • A working knowledge of mainframe and PC-based computer systems and the ability to adapt quickly to changes to those systems.
