We are seeking a skilled Structural Testing Engineer to join our team in Derby. As a Field Testing Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out Structural Testing and Analysis of Lighting Columns throughout the UK. This work is carried out for local councils, highways, and the rail network. You will be required to undertake the testing of lampposts using machinery and test equipment, with training provided. You will also be responsible for expensed overnight stays (Monday to Thursday) with an early return on Friday, and setting up and liaising with contractors and clients onsite. You will work in a safe manner based on the location, with H&S training provided. You will also be required to operate machinery, such as a cherry picker, digger, or scissor lift, and report and record keeping. Occasional nights/weekend work is required.

Minimum skills/experience required:

  • MUST hold a full, clean UK driving licence (class B+E desirable).
  • Have previous experience of operating machinery such as a cherry picker, digger, JCB, scissor lift, or forklift.
  • Basic handson experience of mechanical repairs such as vehicle mechanics or machine maintenance would be a benefit.
  • MUST be happy to stay away from home Monday-Thursday night on a weekly basis.
  • Be good at planning, reliable & wellorganised.
  • Be PC literate able to use a computer to create simple reports.
  • Daily expenses provided along with hotels for overnight stays.
  • Monday-Friday day shifts.
