Join Our Team:

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will work with adult stroke patients, assessing and treating dysphagia and communication disorders. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills and work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About the Role:

You will be based on our 30-bed acute & rehab stroke unit and will have opportunities to work on general medical, surgical, and elderly wards if requested. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the development of the SaLT team, including student supervision, NQP supervision, and in-house CPD. You will also be involved in wider hospital initiatives such as improving MDT working in specific areas and training a wide range of hospital staff in communication and swallowing.

We offer a competitive salary of £37,338 to £44,962 per annum pro rata if part-time, a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and access to a range of NHS discounts. You will be part of a progressive, supportive, and flexible adult SaLT team that covers acute, out-patients, and community patients.

What We're Looking For:

  • Several years' experience as a qualified SaLT working independently with adult stroke patients
  • Competency in assessing and treating adult dysphagia (including instrumental experience)
  • Experience of assessing and treating adults with acquired communication disorders
  • Registration with HCPC and membership of RCSLT desirable
