Senior Financial Manager for Multi-Site Retail Business

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Senior Financial Manager at a well-established, multi-site retail business based in Essex. As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for running and directing the finance function on a day-to-day basis, reporting directly to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management Accounting: Prepare daily and weekly reports for each site, providing valuable insights into financial performance.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data, identify trends, and inform business decisions.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis to ensure accuracy.
  • Sales System Integration: Import data from the in-house sales system and update SAGE to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • System Understanding: Build a comprehensive understanding of the Group's back-office systems to optimize financial processes.
  • Transaction Management: Account for inter-company transactions with precision and attention to detail.
  • Year-End Preparation: Oversee the preparation of year-end accounting files and liaise closely with the Group Auditors.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and direct a small team of finance professionals to achieve collective goals.
  • HMRC and VAT Compliance: Ensure timely preparation and submission of all Quarterly HMRC and VAT returns.
  • Payroll and Property Management: Oversee payroll processing and liaison with the property manager regarding property costs.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in multi-site retail finance, excellent IT and Excel skills, and a keen eye for detail.
