Hays Senior Finance is working with a luxury Retail company in the UK, seeking an ACCA / ACA / CIMA Qualified Accountant with Retail Industry experience to join the business as a Senior Management Accountant.

Your new role

  • Act as a Business Partner across various departments, driving collaboration and ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Take ownership of the Profit & Loss statement for cost centres, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Manage monthly accruals, adjustments, and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Process monthly payroll adjustments for Casual Workers, maintaining timely and efficient payments.
  • Oversee the Clothing Allowance schedule, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Support budget holders across departments in preparing budgets and reforecasting, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Lead two direct reports: Assistant Accountant and Finance Assistant, promoting development and driving improvement of Accounts Payable KPIs.
  • Contribute to the wider Finance team, providing expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Possess a genuine passion for the retail industry.
  • Hold a recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate Retail or FMCG experience, showcasing expertise in financial management and analysis.
  • Showcase previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, highlighting ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Exhibit exceptional analytical skills, leveraging data to inform business decisions.
  • Display advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, utilizing its capabilities to drive financial success.
