About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Technician to join our Domestic Connections team at Electricity North West. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and managing low voltage electricity connections related projects on our distribution system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, value, quote, and manage LVSSA and Single/Three Phase service alterations, low voltage statutory connections, and associated diversion and reinforcement work.
  • Ensure all new connections related infrastructure is designed in accordance with current Electricity North West licence conditions, policy, and standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, taking a proactive approach to meet customer needs and resolve complaints.
  • Meet guaranteed standards of performance targets (GSOP) and licence condition 15 standards for the provision of non-contestable connection services.
  • Develop cost-effective design solutions in accordance with the common connections charging methodology, while maintaining Electricity North West policy and standards of compliance.
  • Input data for Ofgem reporting purposes and provide accurate forecasts of information for projects under your control.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor trainee/graduate engineers, as required.
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deliver a high level of service.
  • Good understanding of low voltage network design and electrical engineering design practices.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design and practices, and understanding of the electricity distribution business.
  • Self-driven and able to work under pressure to meet business and regulatory targets.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills and analytical reasoning.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving approach.
  • Full clean driving licence.
