**Job Title:** NHS Medical Personnel Manager
We are seeking an experienced NHS Medical Personnel Manager to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a vital role in shaping our delivery and ensuring we provide a high-quality professional and responsive medical HR function.
The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of medical and dental terms and conditions of service and employment best practice. They will also have experience in managing and developing medical HR strategies and solutions to reflect corporate aims and objectives.
About the Role:
As an NHS Medical Personnel Manager, you will be responsible for offering guidance and assistance across the Trust on intricate and occasionally contentious matters concerning Medical Personnel. You will ensure that all medical staff and managers have access to appropriate advice, while promoting a consistent approach to guarantee the correct implementation of employment legislation, policies, procedures, and terms and conditions.
You will work collaboratively with HR & OD Business Partners, ensuring the sharing of best practice, informed planning, decision-making, and consistency of approach. The role also involves supporting managers and Employee Relations to manage medical staff issues relating to training, disciplinary, and grievance, sickness; liaising with appropriate internal and external bodies (the Postgraduate Dean, NCAS & GMC) where necessary in line with Trust Policy, Deanery Policy, and the TCS.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide effective leadership and management for the Medical Personnel/Resident Doctors Hours team, ensuring effective service delivery and maximum performance and motivation, enhancing staff development, communication, performance management, and managing attendance.
- To work collaboratively with HR & OD Business Partners, ensuring the sharing of best practice, informed planning, decision-making, and consistency of approach.
- To support managers and Employee Relations to manage medical staff issues relating to training, disciplinary, and grievance, sickness; liaising with appropriate internal and external bodies (the Postgraduate Dean, NCAS & GMC) where necessary in line with Trust Policy, Deanery Policy, and the TCS.
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with highly specialist knowledge of one or more HR topics acquired through degree and professional HR qualification plus additional training or equivalent experience to masters level or equivalent.
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
