SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, ensuring they understand and complete their learning activities.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in conjunction with the SENCO and class teacher.
  • Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging and motivating students, promoting self-esteem and independence.
  • Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with teachers and parents.
  • Assist with personal care needs of students when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication, empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexibility to adapt and support in various roles within the classroom.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to make it permanent at a later date.
