About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Students with SEN: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they understand and complete their tasks.
  • Collaborating with Teachers: Work closely with class teachers to create a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Work with the SENCO and class teacher to develop and implement tailored plans for each student.
  • Fostering a Positive Learning Environment: Encourage and motivate students, promoting self-esteem and independence.
  • Monitoring Progress: Maintain accurate records of students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers and parents.
  • Supporting Personal Care Needs: Provide support with personal care needs of students when necessary.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education or childcare is preferred but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication, empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt and support in various roles within the classroom.
  • DBS Check: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to obtain one.
