We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at The Action Group. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a caring, efficient, and effective 24/7 support service to individuals who use our services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Practice the TAG Key Worker system, ensuring effective handovers between staff and maintaining records.
- Promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of individuals, supporting them to maintain acceptable and adequate levels of self-care.
- Develop meaningful and trusting relationships with individuals, helping them to gain insight into their own behaviour, attitudes, and reactions.
- Encourage independence in daily living activities, supporting individuals only when necessary.
- Promote hobbies, interests, and activities, and encourage participation in community life.
- Directly assist with personal care as required.
- Work with individuals to maximize their ability to communicate effectively and promote self-advocacy.
- Advocate on behalf of individuals when needed, liaising with external organisations regarding benefits, education, tenancy, and employment.
- Work with relatives and carers of individuals, ensuring they have a significant role in their life wherever possible and appropriate.
- Find out about local services, amenities, and organisations available to individuals.
- Work with individuals and groups, according to need.
- Participate flexibly in shift work patterns, including regular working outwith weekday office hours.
- Regularly undertake 'sleepover' or 'waking night' duties as required.
Requirements:
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- PVG clearance.
- Driving license.
